The rising of oil prices in the past two years has pushed both the demand and the price of corn up. The demand for Ethanol, the clean burning energy efficient fuel made from corn has made a huge stride in recent past. The demand is higher than ever according to the New York Times. Farmers expect it to go higher soon if oil prices stay high. Ethanol was up to $1.75 a gallon, last year, from just over $1 the year before.
