Your First Car Insurance

by Auto on May 4, 2010

Just passed your driving test? Are you worried about which car to buy?. It is not easy to buy used car when you have just passed as you are not fully aware of it’s function and the car needs to be within a certain budget and if you do buy it what if certain things do not work. If you somehow find Used Cars within the budget you had then another thing to worry about is the insurance of the car. So is it really worth passing your driving test at the current economy stage?

Car is very important for your daily life use especially for people who live outside London. In London because of a really good public transportation you can get away with not having a car but if you live in Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester or any other cities it is essential to have a car, because public transport only opens till 11:30p.m and some people finish work then. People who work in factories and 24 hours retail stores need to have cars.

My sister passed her driving test three weeks ago and we all have been looking at getting her a reasonable used car as we cannot afford the New BMW. The car she looked at was around £2,000 and the insurance for that car came upto £3,540. To me this is a joke. I thought some company would definitely offer something reasonable for this car.

Because of this people who have recently passed their driving are thinking is it worth having a car in their life and spend so much money in insurance. Some people just cannot afford to pay such amount. May be the insurance was high because she is a new driver under the age of 25 and may be it was to do with the make of the car, but it is not only her who is suffering, there are other people who are finding the same problem and refusing to pay such amount and still catching the public transport. 5 years ago I bought a new car as my first car and it only cost me £1,650 for the insurance for whole year for my Audi TT Coupe. I will still suggest people to buy used cars when they have just passed their driving test.
