Why Is What Kind Of Motorcycle We Ride Relevant

by Auto on July 16, 2010

What does it matter what bike you ride? A bike is a motorcycle, right? some people would believe so. But, I know that what you ride is a reflection of who you are…

The motorcycle you ride goes along with what type of motorcycle riding you do, of course. But it also has a lot to do with who you are and whom you want to hang out with.

For example if you ride in the dirt, you probably hang with guy’s that that ride off road and have Yamaha, Kawasaki or some type of off road or enduro.

If you ride a sports bike you more then likely ride with guys that street or track race. You may even have a pack of friends that do tricks and stunts.

Serious riders that like to ride will ride big V-Twin motorcycles. Large bikes like Harley Davidson’s, Honda VTX’s, Kawasaki Vulcan’s and Star Motors Big V-Twins.

Some riders have formed groups or motorcycle gangs around the big V-Twin motorcycle. many of the more infamous biker gangs would not think of ridinggetting on a bike if it wasn’t the all American Big V-Twin, the Harley Davidson. Different groups have been created around the other V-Twin motorcycles, although, the Harley is still the the best.

In some cases I have seen groups of motorcycle riders that don’t quite match up. From Time to time you see a pack of sports bikes roaring up the highway with one rider in the back riding a Sportster or Honda Shadow. Oreven better a lone Ninja cruising in the middle of a group of big V-Twins.

Don’t get me wrong it is completely all right if you ride a V-Twin and you ride with road racing Sports bike fanatics. It is just the norm to see like-minded bikers riding together in groups.

Let me say right now I hold no judgments of the size, make or model of motorcycle that you ride. The most important thing here is that you have a motorcycle.

Once in a while there is a lone wolf so to speak. He is a biker that loves to ride a motorcycle, but he chooses to ride alone. He is never seen riding in a group and likes it that way. To this lone wolf its not the bike, any bike will do. most of the time though his motorcycle will be a used motorcycle that he bought for steel. He probably bought it from a guy that had it parked in his drive way, with a big used motorcycle for sale sign on it. This is ok too.

Motorcycles have been my life for 36 years and I have ridden just about every size, type, make and model of bike known to man. I have had new bikes and used motorcycles, two strokes, four strokes and V-Twines. I have had single cylinder all the way up to six cylinder bikes, ranging from 70cc to 1500cc.

I have ridden in with friends and all by my self. No matter what a any man or women that chooses to ride; as long as they ride a motorcycle they are ok.
