Mitsubishi 3000GT: The Cost Of Customization

by Auto on October 26, 2009

A common misconception when it comes to car modifications is that it takes a lot of money in order to have a great looking car. If you have a Mitsubishi 3000GT, you can prove everybody wrong. Mitsubishi% LINK1% are relatively inexpensive. With other cars, you are likely to spend thousands of dollars in order to make it look spanking and red-hot. Sometimes the cost of customization is almost equal to or more than the actual cost of the stock car. That would never happen when modifying the 3000GT.

You see if you have an extra $400 to about $2500, you can already buy a complete set of 3000GT body kits. It seems unbelievable, right? Well, you can check online for yourself. Anyway, the car parts that are included with a complete set of body kits are usually parts that you would need in the future. Take for example a front bumper. If you have had your 3000GT for about five to six years now, its front bumper probably have signs of damage. You may have rear-ended someone with your car. Or the debris kicked up by the car in front of you probably dealt damage to it. In those cases, you can buy a set of 3000GT body kits that are better than the stock parts.

Custom parts are often better than stock parts because manufacturers were able to improve upon the latter. The composite materials are improved as well as the functionality. And the icing on the cake is, they have also paid attention to making them more stylish. With regards to body kits accessories, these are less expensive. A canvassing of stores would reveal that you would only need $70 to $300 for any of the following: air ducts; splitters; diffusers; hood scoops; end caps, and more.

Aside from the usual 3000GT body kits that are found in the market, there are several other modifications that you can make. You can bring back the old active aerodynamics; that means the automatically-adjusting front and rear spoilers. You can add PIAA driving lights, which aside from making the front end of your vehicle look more dazzling, would improve your illumination at night. You can have your windows re-tinted. Or buy sail panels or a back center panel. Some would go as far as changing the hood itself and adding scoops at the same time.

You can even go old-school and have your car modified to look just like a 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT. With the endless selection of 3000GT body kits in the market, it is fairly easy to do that. If you look hard enough online, you may be able to find step by step guidelines on how to turn your conventional sports car into a modern, high-end sports car. Remember to stick by the safety standards, however. That can be the tricky part. Ask around before you make changes just to be sure. Apart from that, you can go crazy and spice up your ride in every possible way.
